Cadets can graduate with USCG-approved certifications, ServSafe credentials, and college credits—opening doors to high-paying maritime careers on the Great Lakes and beyond, or pathways to prestigious maritime academies nationwide.

Daily Schedule

Day school program with structured maritime-themed schedule. Each day begins with a Colors Ceremony mirroring U.S. Navy traditions, with cadets gathering before the American flag. Maximum class sizes of 20 for middle school and 25 for high school ensure individualized attention. Curriculum integrates interest and project-based learning with hands-on maritime activities including boat building and navigation training.

Discipline Model

The 'Maritime Way' emphasizes uniforms, discipline, and empathy through the 'Welcome ABOARD' character development system. ABOARD stands for Accountability, Buoyancy, Observancy, Altruism, Respect, and Discipline. A strict Code of Conduct supports self-regulated learning and behavior. The nautical rank and promotion system develops student leaders through peer accountability and progressive responsibility.

The small school size limits traditional varsity sports offerings, but aquatic programs align with the maritime focus.

Facilities

Waterfront campus at 803 Water Street features a building designed like a ship, referred to as a 'training ship and dry dock.' Facilities include a full-sized swimming pool, aquatic simulator, boat-building laboratory, radar classroom, fully operational boats, and kayaks for water-based learning. The cafeteria is called 'the galley' and the front desk serves as 'the helm.'
