Historical Note: Valley Forge Military Academy

Valley Forge Military Academy (1928-2026) was Pennsylvania's premier private military boarding school for grades 7-12, located in Wayne near Philadelphia. The Academy shaped generations of leaders including author J.D. Salinger, General Norman Schwarzkopf (Desert Storm Commander), Governor Wes Moore (Maryland), and NFL Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald.

The Academy closed in May 2026. Note: Valley Forge Military College (the affiliated junior college) continues to operate on the same campus—see above for details.
